l'ocre - the ochre - the book

l´Ocre (The Ochre),

an artist book with 16 original Earth Art Works

The Earth Art Works were printed by the artist with ochre soil from the richest French ochre quarries, the quarries from Roussillon and Rustrel in the Calavon river valley between the mountains Vaucluse and massif of Luberon, on B.F.K. Rives 300 g, glued onto Japanese paper. Each page is signed and titled.

The text is an extract from the manuscript "Il libro dell´arte o trattato della pittura" by Cennino Cennini (ca. 1350 - ca. 1400) and edited by Andreas Kühne.

The book was created in 1994/95 and contains 106 pages.

The edition consists of 16 Arabic and 9 Roman copies, signed and numbered, handbound in wooden plates, size 41 x 41 cm.

The individual pages of the book can be hung on the wall. In this way the viewer can vary the shape and the composition of the entire work.

Published in 1995.
