We traveled through the wilderness of Mendocino National Park without meeting a soul the whole morning. The end of the forest road left us only about 1900 meters from the site, but between us was Rattle Snake Creeks Canyon.
We climbed downhill on gravel slope for about 700 meters to the bottom of the valley and uphill on the other side. We tried to step mainly on rocks since the gravel and dirt slopes were difficult to climb. After digging up the EARTH, we took the same way back under a glaring sun.
This was by far the most strenuous and lonely action of the whole project, but we reached exactly the planned site.
