RUAUMOKO,
a portfolio containing 9 terragraphics.
The Terragraphics are printed with soil which he took from the geo-thermal area of WHAKAREWAREWA in the tribal grounds of TE ARAWA near Rotorua on the North Island of AOTEAROA (New Zealand). The Terragraphics were printed by the artist on Fabriano Disegno 350 g in an edition of 13 Arabic and 3 Roman numbered copies in the size 20 x 20 cm. Every Terragraphic is numbered, signed with an imprint and has a registered number on the back. The portfolio is hand signed on the endpaper.
The 5 pages accompanying text contains the Creation myth of the Maori. It tells the fascinating love story of Papa-tu-a-nuku (Mother Earth) and Rangi-nui (Heaven), the story of Ruaumoko, the Guardian of Volcanoes and Earthquakes, and descripts the history of this land.
The text is also available in English.
