Here on this shore there was once a kind of tribal chief who was called Toixa.
The Spaniard came here at some point and he saw the area and thought it was very pleasant. And he asked the chief if he could live here, together with him.
And the Toixa said: "Of course. I'll stay up here and you can stay down there and we can still work together." And the Spaniard said: "I shall trade and you and the people will build the village "
That is how it started. Everything changed. The Spaniard called it Germano Garrido.
And Toixa, he was called Alexandre Barbosa, they called him Alexandre Barbosa. After Alexandre Barbosa came Augusto Barbosa. After the Alexandre Barbosa, no, after the Augusto Barbosa came the Serafim Morato.
Up to there I know the order, because my father was also the Toixa here. After the father, after the grandfathers, after all of them had died, the tribal chief rank was always passed down to the next one. After my father it was transferred to a brother-in-law of my father. After the brother-in-law of my father it was passed to my brother who has also since died. After my brother I don't know who it will be transferred to, but it must be someone from here. Now you know it. That's how Sco Felipe came about.
