Around 1735 the mission was displaced 10 miles further south to the Cochimí settlement Cadegomó which means Brook of reeds. A document from 1744 described the mission as one of the most productive mission helping with its surpluses other less fortunate ones. Originally it hosted and fed some 156 families, of which barely 54 had survived the epidemics in 1800. 1822 the mission was abandoned. The church was still being used till the beginning the 20th century.

2014 in the small town of La Purísima only some wall rests and two strongly damaged sarcophagi can be seen.
