It was first built on the beach, two years later it was relocated land inward close to a fresh water brook. From 1734 onward, Father Guillén found a new location for the mission with an easy access, fertile soils and in the vicinity of the main settlement of the Guaycura on the highland. The relocation of this new mission lasted until 1741.

In 2014 only an arch wall and ruins of a hempen, as well as the watering system still exist. This mission can only be accessed by boat trough the Golf of California. Oscar Moreno, whose ancestors are among Mayos and Otomíes in Mexico, as well as northern American Sioux, restored and rebuilt the watering system, transforming the valley in a green orchard in the middle of the Land without shadows.
